Below you will find answers to frequently asked questions.

The questions are divided into various sections, in order to simplify the search.


Individual Help

User (end user support):
If you have an application that is protected with our products and if you have questions concerning WIBU-SYSTEMS, please call from
8 AM to 12 AM and from 1 PM to 5 PM the telephone number +49-721-93172-15 (only from Germany, Austria and Switzerland)
or send an email to support@wibu.com.

For better handling we need the following information:
  • Name of the software vendor
  • Version and name of the protected software
  • Operating System
  • Version of the installed driver software
  • Hardware configuration (Printer, etc.)
  • Detailed error describtion with a WIBU-KEY diagnosis and report file
Developer (User support):
You get us nonstop from 8 AM to 5 PM at +49-721-93172-14 or send email to support@wibu.com. Please provide us with your customer number so that we can help you as soon as possible.

  • Way of implementation (automatic/explicit )
  • Operating system
  • Version of the installed driver software
  • Hardware configuration (Printer, etc.)
  • Detailed error describtion with a WIBU-KEY diagnosis and report file


WIBU-KEY driver Diagnosis possibilities:

The WIBU-KEY drivers offer a diagnosis mode for a better local error detection.
In doing so, information is recorded which the driver generates when searching for or accessing WIBU-BOXes.
  • You may activate the diagnosis mode in the WIBU-KEY control panel applet located in the system control panel.
  • After executing WIBU-KEY move to the "Diagnosis" page, mark the option "Active" and starting the protocol
    by pressing the button "New".
  • Now move to the "Test" page by pressing the button "Scan ports" in order to rescan all connected WIBU-BOXes.
  • After this press the "Start" button and run 50 tests.
  • In case of errors go back to page "Diagnosis". The displayed error message can be saved into a file via the button "Save as".
These tests can also be run via the network, e.g. the WIBU-KEY server can be checked.

Pressing the Report button on the "Diagnosis" page generates a file including information about the used operating system and the installed WIBU-KEY components.

Important:The report file facilitates a quick error analysis. Please, send this file together with the test protocol to our support-team
